Description

I thought this 20′ tow rope would work great for the atv. I remember years ago I had a tow rope for a 4-wheel drive, but it did not hold up to pull someone out of a ditch. This rope was on sale, and I needed to get over the $25.00 mark for the free super saving shipping. After I made the purchase, I thought for the same money, I could have bought a 20′ tow strap. I have had my 8 ton dump truck (empty, of course) pulled out of mud with the straps. They hold up, unlike the ropes. Yesterday, I needed to use the trailer. It is a heavy 12′ trailer. I did not think anything about it, but it rained all that night before. I hooked up the trailer, but my tires just spun. I put it in 4-wheel drive. I still could not go anywhere. I was going to unhook the trailer, and put a chain on it to pull it to more solid ground; I am sure the vehicle itself was not stuck. Instead, I thought I would try and use my little Kubota sub compact tractor to pull both of them out of the wet yard. Even in 4-wheel drive, the little tractor does not do too well in mud or soft ground. I used this tow rope. I got a running start, and first try, I was able to pull them out. To my surprise, the rope did not break. Again, it was not like a vehicle stuck in a ditch, but the rope did work in this case. I hooked around the trailer ball on the tractor and around the tow hook on the Trailblazer. The bad thing is that plastic black wrap at each end of the rope hooks split and came off its first and only use. I do not know if they are for looks or if they keep the rope from unraveling and are part of the ropes structure. Hopefully, it did not ruin the tow rope after one use. At least the rope or hooks did not break
